YettiAt Ignite, we’d classify most all of our work as creative and fun, but some projects are just “funner” than others. Thus was the case with an assignment to create a custom skateboard design featuring the always-mysterious Yetti.

client imageCEO Chris Wheeler dusted off his keyboard and jumped in, starting with a rough sketch by the client. He reworked the drawing to simplify some parts and add detail to others and scanned it as a base for the illustration.

20131121_15060420131121_151706Using Adobe Illustrator, a vector-based “drawing” program, Chris created each shape needed and colorized it, checking often against the initial scan.

Ultimately, our Yetti was completed, looking both lovable and still a bit mysterious. A section of the design was isolated for the long, narrow shape of Logothe skateboards and a background added.

Finally, a brand logo was created for the future board shop.

Welcome to the world, Yetti!
